The Golf Club At Oxford Greens opened in 2004. The course was designed by Mark Mungeam.
Carved from the woods west of Naugatuck State Forest, the Golf Club is one of Connecticut's most impressive. Taking full advantage of 680 acres of natural beauty, breathtaking vistas, and ever-changing terrain, The Golf Club combines New England's greatest resources with a neoclassical design.
The par-72 layout features bentgrass on the tees, fairways, and greens, with tees playing from 5,188 to 7,186 yards. Winding through pristine wooded areas, natural preserves, and open meadows, the course's holes, none that are parallel, are fun, yet challenging for players of all abilities.
Black tees: par-72, 7,186 yards, 75.4 / 135
Blue tees: par-72, 6,665 yards, 72.7 / 133
White tees: par-72, 6,324 yards, 71.0 / 131
Green tees: par-72, 5,842 yards, 68.8/ 128
Gold tees: par-72, 5,188 yards, 69.9 / 122

I have played this course over 2 dozen times in the past three seasons. Cold, wind, rain, heat NOTHING kept me away. This course made me a better golfer. Conditioning, difficult layout and an unbvelievable atmosphere made this course head and shoulders above any other I played (some of the highlights being TPC River Highlands, Pound Ridge, Wintonbury Hills, Fox Hopyard, and Okemo Valley)...But all has changed now.. They ruined the majestic #6 by tearing up the entire left side of the woods ajoining the hole to build housing. A similar expansion of housing is taking place on another hole but I cannot recall which... The earlier review stating that the maitenance crew has seemingly "given up" on raking water out of the bunkers is quite accurate. At 2pm on a Friday, the greens looked as if they had been run over by a field hockey team several hundred times...I've never seen anything like it outside of maybe "The Wheel" in Bpt, CT. The course was almost unplayable and I do not use that word lightly.. The round, by the way, took just a shade under 5 1/2 hours... It was embarrassing. I will NEVER play this course again

Great layout but the are building too many houses on the course which will ruin the scenic beauty. Course had many areas under repair and the staff was doing nothing to get the water out of the bunkers. It hadn't rained in 48 hours. Highly rated but they better keep their guard up!

Challenging layout with higher than average slope rating brings me back each year, when I am in CT

Great layout, firm and fast greens are a plus. Sand is hard and not "sugar" but normal for this area. We've always enjoyed the challenge of playing here. Very nice variety of holes with many fairway bunkers to negotiate. Accuracy off the tee is a real asset here. The staff has aways treated us cordially. Book through EZLinks and save significantly on greens fees.

Greens were unfair. They are too hard and fast for the average golfer. The traps are not very good either, they are not raked properly and there is not enough sand in most of them.

I'd like to amend my previous comment from several years ago. I allowed one bad round to spoil my opinion of my favourite course in Connecticut. I HAVE played this course a number of times since and though I have not always scored well, and #6 continues to be a sore spot for me, the course continues to be a well manicured, difficult, aesthetically pleasing golf course and for the money, maybe the best value in the state.
